Day Thirty-One: Where's the balance? What progress really looks like.

Day Thirty-One: Where's the balance? What progress really looks like.

I am currently on Day 3 of a 5 day intensive for an NLP certification.

The information is great.

The connections are lovely.

The time it runs at...is during the day...in Australia!

Which means it is wrapping up around 11pm each night, and starting at 2pm in the afternoon.

Also, I can't be off camera. I have to be in front of the device or camera for almost 10 hours a day.

It made me realize that:

- My sleep and sleep routine are so important to me.

- My body highly dislikes being device-bound.

- I do not hold info or function well past a certain point in learning or of the day.

- I must at least nap at some point during 12 hour stretches.

There is nothing balanced about this experience. And it's making me wish it was done already. PLUS, I don't know if I will be certified at the end of all this, as performance and being in face mode is highly valued during this process and I am sure I have nodded off a few times LOL.

And with all that said, I see how good of a coach I have become.

I value improving my communication AND efficacy in this craft and I feel the determination within me to show up and succeed.

This also goes for my physical fitness journey. In truth, I know that at this time with this online training is really hurting my progress. My recovery is not there. Lacking in sleep is causing a lot of frustration for me and I don't feel well regulated. My head and my body hurt. Yet, I still wake up for the same time that I usually do and my mind gets really busy.

But I will keep up with getting in some form of movement and workout each day. I have kept up with vitamins and hydration. My bowel movements are regular. I am increasing my weights and resistance training. I am adding in more reps. And when this training is over and my recovery has caught up, I will be moving right along with my progress.

Right now, my metrics don't look like progress or how I want them to. But in the long game, this will be one week out of many and one blip out of my whole year.

Balance is how we navigate and adapt to stay on course, and stay heading in the direction toward the goal we desire. It's the adaptation, consistency, and continuation that matters. and it will look like a straight light from a bigger picture viewpoint.
