Day Sixteen: Harvesting from good habits
Day Sixteen: Harvesting from good habits
This week things took a bit of a shift. My hubby decided it was time to do our annual prolonged fast. Now, what he really said was something like, 'I think I am going to fast this week because I don't have anything going on. I'm tired of eating like crap'.
Which I also knew meant... how come "we" haven't started our usual January reset yet?
In truth, I have attempted to "clean up" our diet as a family this year. And when I jumped in with friends on that diet program, there was a lot of clean eating going on. But he was in his own experience, journey, and habits, and I was navigating mine. The boys tend to eat in the middle. Well actually, this past year the youngest is brancing off on his own. So, the oldest and I eat similar and the hubby eats his wheaty foods and youngest is "exploring" right now LOL.
So, I left it as HIS journey of fasting to navigate, so that he could clearly see that... a lot of the meals that "WE" eat, he doesn't choose and maybe it IS time for him to figure this stuff out on his own, instead of thinking his dietary journey is like that for the whole family.
You see, the fasting part, he knows how to navigate on his own. Actually, I would have to say that fasting is a divine practice of that individual realtionship we have with ourselves and our "Higher Essence". However, the rest...that has been me. I have the knowledge and the steps of what to do.
This year, when we go to break the fast, I am choosing bone broth first. Almost as a transitional fast. And do that for a few days or so. And then into my gremino "lemonade". And have that for about a day. And then soups. To slowly bring back in the habit of "eating" with more mindfulness and attention.
Was this in my plan...at some point. It just happened to align with my cycle and where I have gotten to in my healing and "repair" journey. My body is responding beautifully! Like...WOW! My body's apt response to not only lose the weight but also to continue pooping DURING the fast has been amazing to me. I've had sluggish peristalsis for some time, which has allowed me to get more out of what I need, thus not requiring as much to eat... which also means I should make more mindful, high-nutrient and bioavailable choices, so I am not left with sludge in the gut.
BUT with all that said... I have done all those wonderful things and experienced optimal health WHILE enjoying the "treats" or "off foods". My plan is to get back on track with staying aligned from an ingredient level. It can LOOK like all the "goodies" in the end, but we will know our food is made aligned with how "we" want to be eating.
I know the habits I once lived and HOW and WHEN to apply them. AND most importantly, I also know the mind shifts and reframes in wording, language, and narrative that needs to be in place for the success I desire to have its "CLEAR PATH" forward.
This right here IS the harvest gained from having applied and experienced these beneficial habits in my life. AND...knowing I CAN pick them back up and slot them back in to my life and they will work and prodduce the fruit of results again.
