Day One: Starting point

It's the "zone" of day one.

I told myself I would start on January 17th, yet I began on the evening of January 13th with an intention, desired outcome, and a small inspired action, a tablespoon of olive oil.

When we know that if we start now we could enjoy a few more days of progress and building momentum,  then why not start taking the action steps to get things going.

The main focus for me right now is my physical health and composition.  My 2nd focus is my career.

S.O.S. stands for "from Stuck to Out to Sustainable."

Moving from where you feel stuck on a wheel going around and around in a loop, to getting of the wheel and into a space of observation, safety, openness, hope, and possibility. And then from there, forward with a set direction, support, and tools to create momentum towards the success and life that you WANT to be living.

For myself, my health took an unexpected hit while in a challenge with friends to do a certain way of eating A few months ago.

I figured that the way laid out wasn't too dissimilar to what I had done in the past with the Elimination Diet and others, but where I was at in my own intuitive eating signaled to me that certain things I usually eat or supplement with on a regular basis shouldn't be taken out.

I didn't listen however, and my body ballooned in size and crashed in certain key markers, creating a deficiency here and there. It threw off my hormones and cycle, and yeah... here I am almost 20 pounds heavier and what feels like 3 or 4 sizes larger.

So I reviewed where I was at 10 years ago...even just 2 years ago, having recovered from a similar offset, and I decided I can do it again.

So I started in with the tools I used to shift things before, along with things I have learned in the last couple years and created a system and started building my own plan and rescue.

My own S.O.S.

You can start your S.O.S. rescue by stopping and bringing awareness to where you are at right now. Lift your head up and see... where it is that you want to go and what you want to have when you get there.

I think what gets us stuck is when we take our eyes off of what is already good and working in our lives and we get caught up in "doing" the checklists...much of which is not our own items or preferred choices. Much of which that doesn't line up with what we truly want.  Putting a different "map" in our hands and leading us off of OUR path.

Knowing not just where we want to go, but the life we will be living, both on the way there and when we get "there"... these are things we have the power and authority to influence and change in our lives. And so that is where I am starting.

Establishing our vision is the first rope we use to helping us get unstuck.

Often we focus on just wanting OUT!

I KNOW! That's where I found myself.  Just wanting to fix what had happened to me and my body. Just get back to at least where I was before. But I discovered, from trying to apply my in-the-moment fixes that...I was definitely in a different place than where I started and I needed more than the quick fix. Something deeper was happening and I needed more information about where I was at and what I was dealing with. I got the medical support and lab work done. I now knew what I needed to take care of and address before moving forward.

It wasn't enough to just want to get to the next marker. I seeded to make sure my actions are lining up with where I want to be going once I get out of the muck of "stuck". Otherwise it could put me one the road to something I didn't intend on experiencing.

So what is my intention?  What is your intention? If you are stuck right now, where do you intend on going once you're on the other side of stuck?

And yes, you can start with saying where you don't want to be...however, that is the same as trying to do everything you can to get your vehicle out of the run while sitting in the driver's seat turning the steering wheel while your tires continue to spin. You already know you're stuck. Let's see how to get unstuck.

Get out of the vehicle, accept the situation,  and then start looking for the tools and support that will help you gain traction again... and back on the road towards where you want to be going.
